Paris Day Five part 1

Today is the first day my feet and back aren't hurting (!). It's is the low 60s today so no coat or jacket required. It's actually a beautiful day. Sunny.

I went to the Curie Museum this afternoon. They have some instruments and interesting information. This is the building where Marie Curie had her lab, office and garden. The lab is pretty much how she left it. Amazing. It's the early 1900s and she discovers two elements and wins two Noble prizes. Impressive to say the least.

The museum is close to where I stayed in 1994 at the Foyer on Blvd St-Michel. I took a stroll past it and saw that the phone booth that was out front has been taken out. You can see a square where it used to be. We spent lots of time outside next to it calling home and smoking.

I walked through Luxembourg Garden and back up past St-Garmain to the grocery and back to the apartment for a meal before heading back out. Some of the museums are open late tonight but I haven't decided which one to go to yet. Most likely the Pompidou will win and the Lichtenstein exhibition.

Down to RER B.

Marie Curie's lab

I got a flashback to Fat Man and Little Boy. Poor John Cusack.

Her office.

A very important desk.

Curie's garden.

Marie and Pierre Curie

Outside her office and lab looking on the garden.

The sidewalk has been changed and the phone booth is missing. It used to be next to that van.

Palais de Luxembourg

Montparnasse Tower in the distance

Pantheon in the distance with cranes.

If anyone sees Coke Zero Decaffeinated back home let me know where.
