Paris Day Fourteen- Le Corbusier's Studio and new friends.

(Originally posted April 2014)

It's been six month since I came back from this trip and have not posted about my last day. It's was a good one too.

What a day. I left early to go out to see Le Corbusier studio/apartment. When you get there you have to be buzzed into the building and then take the back stairs to the 7th/top floor as there are regular tenants in the building but the foundation has the apartment open to the public on Saturdays.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the staircase. The front space is the studio and office space. Le Corbusier's famous swing door divides the living and work space. Lots of light and plenty of space.

At the back of the apartment there is a spectacular view from the porch than spans the whole back of the apartment from the kitchen to the bedroom.

At the top of the stairs is another bedroom, bath with a very large shower and an outdoor space on the roof. We weren't allowed on the roof.

After the studio/apartment I left to take more photos of St. Juliene de Pauvre that is right across the Seine from Notre Dame. Then when wandering around St. Michel to get paper goods from Gebert- Jospeh. This excursion cost me over weight fee on the baggage at the air port. Worth it. Took more photos at Polidor then went to meet up with Cathy Gaffney and Takashi. Very lovely meeting them for a drink and a snack.

Later that night I meet Chica and Joey at a Tibetian restaurant and a stroll around the Latin Quarter then back home.

I tried to get the angle right like in Yousef Karsh's portrait from 1954.

Midnight in Paris was filmed inside in Restaurant Polidor. The Fitzgerald's took Gil here where he met with Hemingway for the first time.

Tom Hiddleston stood here. Just sayin'.
