Richard E.Grant

I've been thinking about the actor Richard E Grant this week. I hadn't seen him in a film since Gosford Park and was excited to see him in Dom Hemingway. Check out his filmography on IMdb (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001290/), he's been in some good stuff. Cold Light of Day is streaming on Netflix. I haven't watched it in years but I remember watching it more than a few times when it I owned it on VHS. And if you've never seen Warlock, do. It's just fun. Listen for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reference. Jack & Sarah is light hearted and sweet. Ian McKellen is in it if you need another reason to see it. And Hudson Hawk has a lot of Da Vinci references.

Mr. Grant's first feature film was Withnail and I along with Paul McGann. Mr. McGann is coming to Orlando in July for a Doctor Who convention (that's a whole other blog). Mr. Grant is friends with the royal family. I remember seeing him in attendance at William and Kate's wedding. Well, Queen Elizabeth owns a Vermeer. So I have a three degree of separation opportunity coming up. Think I can get an audience with the painting if I asked nicely? I can dream.

If you have $150 to spare you can own his new scent just launched this month called Jack.

See Tim's Vermeer. This is the painting Tim Jenison chose to test his theory about Vermeer using optics.

"There must and shall be aspirin!"

"Let your attention lie before you, not beside you."

"If De Vinci were alive today, he'd be eating microwaved sushi, naked in the back of a Cadillac with the both of us."
