It is 12:22AM and I'm home from a great evening out with Cathy Gaffney. We met up at metro station Odeon then headed to Opera for a drink at Harry's New York Bar- Sank Roo Doe Noo. That's the address and it's written on the door (that's how you pronounced 5 rue Daunou). Cathy took a photo of us before heading in (see Facebook). It wasn't as crowed as I thought it would be on a Saturday night. Perhaps the events of the last month have something to do with that. Or everyone is underground; there were more people at Chatelet Les Halles station than I saw on the street. We left Harry's and had dinner at Chez Clement. Okay meal with great conversation. And tomorrow we'll do it again.
I don't mind telling you my neck just cracked big time. And I just discovered the tiny fridge in this apartment has an ice tray. Time to ice the back. I say they vote in more escalators in the Metro. Stairs suck.
It'll be an early(ish) start tomorrow. I think the 20th arrondissement is calling.
Oh yeah. I went back to Carrefour before meeting Cathy to get milk, paper towels, and hand soap (Sunday tomorrow- not sure what's closed or open). The young gentleman at the register was much nicer than the lady yesterday (sour puss, she was). He spoke English too.
