Cathy and I arrived at Place de la Republique at roughly the same time. She brought candles for us to leave as our tribute to the victims. Today marked one month since the senseless deaths. We lit the candles and began to walked around the memorial taking it in.
We stopped on our way to Canal St. Martin so I could take a photo of an Invader across from the Place at the corner. The Canal is very eerie on this Sunday evening. Cathy brought me to The Cork & Cavan and we had a drink and chips while waiting for Cathy's friend Sam to get back into town. We had plans to have drinks and snacks and make it an early night.
The best of plans...
We walk back to Republique and took the Metro to Ourcq near La Villette. It's a ways out there and the apartment was a good walk from the metro. Lots of street art around this area. We met with Sam then headed to Big Corner Burger & Co which I must say has very tasty cheeseburgers. The place was very American but in a good way. I would eat there again for sure.
Cathy has work so I'll be on my own for he next two days until my sister and niece arrive Wednesday morning (!).
Oh, and the National Front didn't win. Take that Le Pen.
It is now 1:40 AM.
