Off to Centre Pompidou to see the Magritte exhibit. Stood in line for about 45 minutes to get in. Interesting choices. Also walked through the permanent collection. Mondrian, Klein, Picasso, Arbus, Miro, Leger, etc.- no big deal. Great views of the city at the Pompidou. Stopped for some water at the Monoprix just across. Found an Invader then walked through the park around Tour Saint Jacques. I thought I saw a squirrel out the corner of my eye but it was a rat. Lots of them. And they chirp. Walked over Pont St. Michel and remembered Patisserie Viennese was open today so went for coffee and black forrest cake. Then off to Gilbert Joseph for notebooks, plastic envelopes and pens. The girl who checked me out spoke English and was very nice. The gentlemen who sold me my ticket at Centre Pompidou was very nice as well- seemed happy. I had more than a few things so let two older ladies go ahead of me- they each had only one items- they were very nice too. No metro today. Of course, I stopped at Odeon yesterday because the machine there accepts bills and I’m stocked up. I should have noticed Paterson was Avant Premier at UGC Les Halles tonight. Glad I checked the site before I left because it sold out before 6pm. Ugh.
