Paris Day Nine- Part One

Saturday we walked about the Marais looking for more Invaders.  We headed out around noon and took the metro up to Saint-Sebastien-Froissart. Today there was a book signing at Wasted Talent near the Centre Pompidou with Philippe Baudelocque and Paul "AROE" Barlow at 3pm so we had some time to work out way over there. Immediately upon emerging from underground we saw PA_ 1033.

The PA_407 has been deleted but this corner stays interesting. You can see the remnants of a Invader COST collaboration at the top. Christmas trees are for sale everywhere.

Found on Rue de la Perie

PA_519 is inside Librarie des Archives on Rue Vieille du Temple. Unfortunately the owner has covered it up and put up signs stating no photography allowed. The store does have a good collection of old art magazines and good selection of art books. The owner was speaking to a gentlemen about buying the Phaidon published monograph of Anish Kapoor. This book is very comprehensive and is a steel at 75 Euro.

PA_519 is underneath that piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Signs don't stop me.

Wasted Talent had a very good street/graffiti art exhibition with a book signing. I met first with Philippe Baudelocque.   Philippe is soft spoken and takes is art seriously. He gook his time with each book making original illustrations for each person inside and on the cover. What a pleasure it was to chat with him.

Paul Barlow is from Brighton, England. His a a graffiti artist. He travels all over the world with his spray cans making art and speaking in galleries and meeting other artists and followers of street/graffiti art. Paul is very outspoken. His personality matches is work. This new book outlining his work to date, even as recent as weeks ago. I got to hear that Egypt was the most interesting place he had been arrested. There is a tag somewhere in Sinai desert reading MSK. The police googled him and saw he does this all over the world and that is wasn't political so they basically let him and told him to get lost. He may rub some the wrong way but I found him delightful. I am after all is favourite American.

Here's one in Brighton is did not 2010. The At-At's are 30 feet high.

Paul's hands on the cover.
